I always wanted to do a contest, but I never knew what to do it one, now working on The Unhips comic and doing designs for characters and working on stories, it hit me.



As some may or may not know Ska-chan, most seen in the back of RBF and maw/paw music shops looking for cool 2 Tone stuff. It's fun cool to create a people representatives of genres of music, but before I do, I wanna see you try! Basically, lets give ska-chan a music clique!

The Contest: Create a character using a genre of music.


Rules and regulations:
The character can be male or female.
You can give the character a real name, traits, personality (recommended actually)
genre name must have a Japanese honorific at the end. See -> [link]
Hat design is required. Go wild with it!
Each character must have one trait word he/she uses the most. (I.E Ska-chan's "AWESOME")
You CAN'T redo Ska-Chan. >> She's perfect, dammit!
Find a way to be creative and make your character interesting and fun. This contest is about designing, not about how well you draw. Two totally different things.


Prizes

1st: Your character will become an official Tragically Unhip character. (You will be credited for the creation of the chosen character)
One Year DA subscription or $30 cash equivalent award, which ever the winner chooses
One digital art piece of your choosing.

2nd: Your character will be come a Tragically Unhip background/minor character (You will be credited)
One 3 Month Subscription on DA
One digital piece of your choosing

3rd: One 3 Month Subscription
One Digital Art of your choice.

All participates will have their character design sketch drawn as a thank you for participating.


Contest begins as soon as you feel like working on it, and ends June 15th
